This is the second message from the current President, D. Phillip Woodruff.
This is the second IUVSTA News Bulletin of this triennium, 1998 -2001. We got a bit behind with No. 144 due to the changes involved with the new triennium. We will be doing our best to catch up. In doing so we are trying to get the articles of this issue out as soon as possible by continuing to update until everything is complete. This will hopefully also act as an extra incentive for the contributors. Click here to obtain an overview of the activities of IUVSTA during the first six months of 1999, such as the ECM-83 meeting held in Saillon, Switzerland in Feb 1999.
The winner of the Welch Scholarship for 2000 is Dr. Erik Svedberg of Linkoping University. He will study "Material Growth and Device Investigations Concerning the Role of Strong Orientation on New Magnetic Field Sensors" at the Seagate Institute in Pittsburg, USA.
These high level scientific Workshops are being organized by our Scientific Divisions on specially selected topics. Click here to view the list of scientific Workshops currently being offered by the Divisions. Will you participate?
Click here to see the list of forthcoming conferences, meetings and workshops which are being organized, co-organized or sponsored by IUVSTA. Links to broader Diaries of other related organizations are also given. Details of forthcoming Executive Council Meetings can be obtained by clicking here. These details include the agenda and program of committee meetings. The 84th Executive Council Meeting will be held in Cancun, Mexico, 4-5 Sept. 1999. The 85th Executive Council Meeting will be held in Namur, Belgium, 31 March-2 April, 2000.
We welcome further ideas on what you would like to see in your Bulletin. You can contact the Editor, Lars Westerberg, by e-mail at westerberg@tsl.uu.se |
