Jordi Sancho-Parramon

Jordi Sancho-Parramon is the head of the Laboratory for Optics and Optical Thin Films at the Material Physics Division of the Rudjer Boskovic Institute in Zagreb, Croatia. He obtained his PhD in Physics at the University of Barcelona in the field of optical characterization of thin film materials. He has performed research stays at the Laser Zentrum Hanover, ENEA Casaccia, Tyndall Institute  and the Martin-Luther-Univesitat Halle-Wittenberg.

Main research topic

His field of research focus on modelling light propagation in multilayer structures and light-matter interaction at the nano-scale, particularly on optical properties of nanostructured materials. The current interests are on modelling the optical response of plasmonics films produced by e-beam evaporation, tailoring their optical properties by controlling morphology and composition and devising new applications of coatings containing plasmonic films.
