She works at the University of Debrecen, Department of Solid State Physics.
Main research topic
She investigated the thermal and optical properties of porous gold nanoparticles (PGN). It was shown that a few nanometer (5-7 nm) metal oxide (Al2O3, TiO2) layer can stabilize the porous structure up to high temperatures annealing, furthermore the optical response of porous gold nanoparticles can be tuned using these covering layer. The mixture of the two oxides is able to tune the plasmonic properties of porous gold nanoparticles in a controlled way. Support-free synthesis of PGN has been also reported and it was shown that the PGN has a narrower absorption peak in colloidal form. She is an expert in scanning electron microscopy and focused ion beam techniques, as well as in X-ray Diffraction.
