Prof. Dr. HERNANDO “Jethro” SIY SALAPARE III (born 1984, Philippines) obtained his Ph.D. Physics from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2013 with an exchange doctoral mobility of Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science at the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis in Nice, France in 2012 and his second Ph.D. in Chemistry at Université Côte d’Azur in 2021. He did several postdoc researches from 2013 to 2018 for the projects of the European Space Agency (ESA) and NICE Lab, Université de Nice-Sophia Antipolis.
Salapare is currently a Research Engineer at the Biomaterials-Biointerfaces group of the Institut de Science des Matériaux de Mulhouse (IS2M), Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) – Université Haute-Alsace, France. He is also a Professorial Lecturer at the University of the Philippines Open University and the Research Director of Air Link International Aviation College.
Salapare is a regular member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), the Division of Plasma Physics of Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (DPP-APPS), and the Vacuum Society of the Philippines (VSP). He is currently serving as an Associate Editor of the Philippine e-Journal for Applied Research and Development (PeJARD) and the Philippine representative (as Alternate Councillor) to the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA).
